ABBAR, MALTA — In a high-stakes encounter on Saturday, March 7, Żabbar St. Patrick secured a definitive 5-3 victory over Mosta in the Premier Division Championship Group. The win ends a difficult period for Emilio Cornago’s side, following their recent midweek loss to Birkirkara.
The match began with early drama as Prince Emmanuel put Mosta ahead in the 8th minute. However, Żabbar responded with precision and power. The “Green and Whites” dismantled Mosta’s struggling defense with goals from Bruno Figueiredo, Nevin Portelli, Pedro Cejas, Young Won Im, and Ayom Majok.
While Leo Fernandes found the net for Mosta in an attempt to spark a comeback, it wasn’t enough to stop the slide. Mosta has now gone eight matches without a win, while Żabbar moves up the table, fueled by the offensive clinicality of Cejas and the tactical leadership of Cornago.
